Vacation Bible School 2008 (under Revamped Format)

This year's Vacation Bible School will be under a different format than
from what it has been for a long time at Dyers Creek. We're planning a three-
night schedule (Wednesday through Friday, June 11-13, from 6:00 to 7:
45pm), with a huge wrap-up called "Family Saturday at Dyers Creek" on June
14 from 9:30am to 2:30pm.
(We'll be hosting Safari Greg—something you get when you combine a master
magician and a wildlife biologist! He'll be bringing all kinds of exotic animals,
so plan now to bring the whole family on Saturday and stick around for lunch!)
The theme for this year's VBS is "God's Big Back Yard," and we're
hoping that much of the Bible learning can take place in the great outdoors
surrounding the church! (That means we'll be needing some light porch and
patio furniture for the décor and to use!) Also keep in mind some of these
dates regarding VBS: Sunday, April 20, when there'll be a planning meeting
after the morning Worship Service; Monday and Tuesday, June 9 and 10,
when we'll set up and decorate; Wednesday, June 18, when we'll have the
wrap-up lesson as well as practice for the Closing Program; and Sunday, June
22, when we'll have the Closing Program for VBS. Throughout the rest of the
summer, Kids Korner (on Wednesday nights) will continue Bible lessons with
the "God's Big Back Yard" theme. All of us very much appreciate your
commitment in helping our kids to have a blast serving Jesus!
